Symmetric and asymmetric tariffs

In the transmission in the computer network the speed parameter is defined by the speed of receiving data (download) and the speed of sending data (upload). In the network there are two kinds of tariff plans: symmetric and asymmetric ones.

In the symmetric tariff plans the download speed is equal to the upload speed, so when you decide for the line with the speed 1,5 Mb/s, you actually have at your disposal 1,5 Mb/s for downloading and 1,5 Mb/s for uploading the data.

In the asymmetric tariff plans the situation is different. There exists the possibility of fast data downloading, but it is impossible to send (upload) data fast to the Internet.
